Bad mom, good mom - bad wife, good wife - in the opinion of others, it seems to change by the day, or should I say more like, the minute. Even my best intentions still seem to be making someone upset. Have you ever been trying your best at something, only to be shot down by a less than kind comment? Sometimes comments stem from misunderstandings or as a parent, knowing what's best for our children (and them not agreeing). Comments don't have to be verbal because body language can say alot (eye rolling, hair swinging, stomping feet, slammed doors, head shaking, and refusal of hugs and kisses when heading out the door)
What is a mom, wife, taxi driver, nurse, homemaker, cook, finder-of-all-lost-things, hold-everything-together, person supposed to do in the face of opposition?????
James 4:7-8 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
This is a great opportunity to allow satan to grab a foothold but you and I can choose to make the better choice. We can choose to submit and draw near to our Lord. We can choose to be loved on and comforted by our Lover and Comforter instead of allowing our feelings to be hurt, or to hold on to a grudge which only pleases satan.
How will you respond to comments, whether verbal or implied, made by others today. Will you please satan or God?
Have a great day
Living fearlessly in Christ
