Good morning! It's back to real life after a long weekend for me. Our son was sick last week. It was very odd - he would wake up with terrible stomach pain but by afternoon would be feeling better. Each night, we thought he was better but then he'd wake with the pain again. This went on for three days so we thought we'd have him checked by the doctor. After initially not finding anything wrong, she sent him to the hospital for blood work and a ct scan. After spending the day at the hospital, on Thursday, he felt much better. He went back to school on Friday feeling great and continued through the weekend. I was so frustrated this morning to find his pain is back and he's spent the last couple hours throwing up. I've prayed for wisdom, because I have no clue what to do. The tough mom inside of me wants to tell him to just suck it up and go to school so he doesn't get behind but yet the softer side of me hurts because of his pain. I ask that you pray for God's healing hand over our boy.
I shared last week that I was meeting with my advisor from Lincoln Christian College on Friday. It was a beautiful morning and I had a very relaxing 1 hour and 15 minute drive down. I gained alot of information and found out that it actually is the same amount of credits and time to get an associates degree in general ministry as getting the Biblical studies certificate. So, after discussion with my hubby, we decided I might as well go for the degree. My worries about time and finances began creeping back but I instantly had to put them behind me. I WILL trust that since this is where God is leading me, He is going to provide everything I need. Praise God for His faithfulness!
Speaking of God's faithfulness - I have a great story to tell you. I've shared with you before that God has pursued/pushed me to get up at 5:00am each morning and spend time with Him as I walk. I will do really good for awhile, slump off until He gets me moving again, and then do good until I slump off again - and the crazy circle begins again. Needless to say, it is much easier to stay motivated in the warm weather. Well, over the last couple weeks, I've been slacking off again. It's so nice and warm in my bed and I just have such a hard time pulling myself out to go outside in the cold. Last night, before I went to bed, I asked God to help me get up this morning. I knew it was time to get out of the slump again. I was in a dead sleep when my alarm went off at 5. I immediately hit the snooze and began to close my eyes again - MY ALARM SOUNDED AGAIN - I looked at the clock and it had only been one minute. Now, I don't know about yours, but my snooze is for 9 minutes. I wondered if something was wrong with my clock, so I watched and waiting for another minute, but it didn't go off again. I was awake though - my curiosity kept me awake and when I realized that God had given me that second alarm only 1 minute later, I got up to spend my time with Him. Now, you may think I'm crazy or you may think I was just dreaming, but I know it was my God. God knows exactly what we need and when we need it. What wonderful excitement I began my day with. The excitment that only my God can bring!!!
Will you trust today????

Sometimes I think God gives us what we need even before we KNOW we need it. He is just amazing. I have been praying for Nate and that this will pass soon. Have a wonderful day!
